I have had a small moonlighting engagement with Apogee in its current form since around 2022, assisting with a variety of their first person shooters. Of course I’ve known the leadership team for quite some time due to working on Build Engine Addons via Sunstorm and Duke Nukem Forever via 3D Realms. So it was nice to hear from Scott Miller about working together again.
I’ve generally focused on design consultation offering feedback/suggestions, evaluating potential projects, testing, etc. But also occasionally some hands on implementation, story writing, production, etc. on a few as yet unreleased titles.
Turbo Overkill was already quite far along by the time I joined up so I was mostly playtesting as it was landing and offering polish and bug feedback. It turned out great and was a lot of fun watching it release to an exceptionally positive response.
