These are Unity based projects I began but have not completed and are uploaded as a curiosity. I may or may not continue development on them, but for the moment none is in progress. These are projects I might still like to finish so I won’t go into much detail. If you figure them out, cool, if not, no worries. Thanks for checking it out either way.
Booty Quest
Booty Quest is a prototype puzzle game taking a twist on Chess about a kid (Pawn) eventually having to take over as King or Queen of the Kingdom to defend it from Pirates. The board is modified to provide new types of squares such as islands, whirlpools, etc. that affect the standard chess moves… and the objective is about attacking the opposing city and returning with the Booty (treasure, hostages, etc). It also supports a vs mode, but the main enjoyment I had in developing it was exploring the narrative options using a puzzle approach to the board configurations and move options. And a love story, maybe.
The Garden Plot
The Garden Plot is a little prototype mystery game set in a pseudo MMO world where you’re a dandelion and need to talk to the other things near you in the yard to figure out what’s going on. It was mostly a chance to be kind of obnoxious with the Unity rendering effects while playing with a simple interface for “talking” to other “players” with a quick day/night cycle where you’ve got a limited amount of time to figure out how to avoid the fate of all dandelions living in someone’s yard.
Hallo! EnHANZ!
Hallo! EnHANZ! is a prototype where the plan was to create a followup ARPG to The Grey Goof where people were required to uncover details within “hacked desktops” and message other people about what they had found. Getting details would have been much harder in the final version. Depending on what they uncovered and I as the Game Master was told, would dictate how the game evolved.
I’m not sure it would have worked well as a true multi-user ARG but the single player detective aspect definitely has promise, but was not fleshed out beyond a prototype.
